It started with a request to film Gary Barlow, Fearne Cotton and Chris Moyles for a large Comic Relief event back in 2009. Comic Relief required a shooting producer to direct, film, edit and upload daily films covering the mass distribution of Malaria protection nets in Uganda. With a long history working in broadcast for the BBC as a shooting producer and editor, Steve Maud (MD) took on the challenge and successfully covered the event which was published across mass media in the UK. Gaining a reputation for covering tough topics in remote locations, Steve expanded his knowledge into a production company that became Cloud Nine Media.
With a focus on discovering and promoting the extraordinary initiatives and the people behind them, this became the ethos of Cloud Nine Media. This approach has since been widely recognised by powerful brands that, with ongoing partnerships, have brought global initiatives to life.
